The short answer
Most frozen pepperoni pizza in the USA is not halal, because the pepperoni is made with pork. DiGiorno, Red Baron and Totino's all say so on their own pages. Cheese pizzas are doubtful rather than haram: the cheese lists "enzymes" without saying where they come from. Amy's says its cheese uses no animal enzymes, and Daiya's pizza is plant-based. The table below checks each brand.
What makes a frozen pizza halal or not?
A pizza has three parts to check: the meat, the cheese and the crust.
Pepperoni and sausage. Most US pepperoni is made with pork, sometimes mixed with chicken and beef. Sausage toppings are usually pork too. These are not halal.
The cheese. Cheese is made with enzymes such as rennet, which can come from animals. Pizza labels usually just say "enzymes." Parmesan and Romano in cheese blends are the most likely to use animal rennet.
The crust. Crusts can contain dough conditioners or mono- and diglycerides, which are doubtful unless the source is named.

Verdict key
How can you check any frozen pizza yourself?
- Read the pepperoni line. It usually says "made with pork," "pork and beef" or "pork, chicken and beef."
- Look at the cheese. "Enzymes" with no source is doubtful. "Non-animal enzymes" or "microbial enzymes" are fine.
- Choose plant-based pizzas if you want to avoid both questions.
- Look for a halal mark. Halal-certified frozen pizza is rare in big US chains, so halal grocery stores are the best place to look.
Is there halal pepperoni pizza?
Yes, but usually not in the regular frozen aisle. Halal pizzerias use beef or chicken pepperoni from halal suppliers. In Houston, search "pizza" on HalalVouch to see verified halal pizza places.
