Is Chick-fil-A Halal?

The short version

Chick-fil-A serves no halal-certified chicken at any US restaurant, and the chain makes no halal claim. Its chicken is slaughtered by standard commercial methods, not the Islamic (zabiha) method most Muslims require, so it does not qualify as halal.

Why "no pork" doesn't make it halal

Chick-fil-A is known for a short menu and for never serving pork, which leads many people to assume it must be safe. But for meat, halal is about more than avoiding pork. The animal has to be slaughtered according to Islamic rules and the supply chain kept halal-certified. Chick-fil-A meets neither condition, so the absence of pork on the menu does not make the chicken halal.

What about the fries and sides?

The famous waffle fries are cooked in fully refined peanut oil, and many sides, salads and drinks contain no obviously haram ingredients.
