What it is

Why it's halal

Stevia is 100% plant-derived — the sweet compounds are extracted from stevia leaves with water and filtration. No stage of its production — cultivation, harvest, extraction or purification — involves animals, animal by-products or alcohol. That makes it straightforwardly halal, and halal-certified stevia (Rebaudioside A) is widely available.

A note on blended products

Pure stevia is halal.
