Jersey Mike's is not halal in the United States. It is a sandwich shop built around cold cuts, including pork products such as ham, capicola, prosciuttini and pepperoni. Its meats are not halal-certified, and they are sliced on shared slicers. No US location is halal-certified. A tuna or veggie sub avoids the meat itself, although the slicers and preparation areas are shared.

The short answer
Jersey Mike's is a sub shop that serves cold cuts, including several pork products, and it has no halal certification. Its meats are sliced on shared slicers. So it is not halal.
Why isn't Jersey Mike's halal?
The menu is built on deli meats, including pork ones such as ham, capicola, prosciuttini and pepperoni. The beef and chicken come from ordinary suppliers and are not slaughtered the zabiha way. Cold cuts are sliced on shared slicers, so traces of pork can pass from one meat to another.
What can a Muslim eat at Jersey Mike's?
A tuna sub or a veggie sub avoids the meat itself. However, the slicers and preparation surfaces are shared with pork, so strict eaters should keep that contact in mind.
Where can you find a halal sub instead?
Look for a local deli that is halal-certified. You can check any restaurant's halal status, and the evidence behind it, in our verified directory.
