Ordering halal Chinese food: what to check
Most Chinese restaurants are not halal: pork, lard and Shaoxing cooking wine are standard ingredients. Halal Chinese food does exist, notably in the Hui and Uyghur Muslim traditions, and some Chinese restaurants run fully halal kitchens.
